Hey BE Music Family,
We just received an exciting brief for a prison documentary. The music supervisor is searching for a song similar to Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again”. The song is meant to be emotional and impactful as the documentary focuses on people who have been wrongfully incarcerated.
Genre: Uplifting and soulful, with a strong emphasis on melody and positive lyrics. While hip-hop and R&B are strong contenders, we're open to other genres that achieve the desired emotional impact. Most stories are focused on people of color and the music supervisor would like that reflected in the artist.
Artists: The music supervisor prefers artists with some connection to the carceral system, focusing on people of color. Their lived experiences can add depth and authenticity to the music's message.
Lyrics: The lyrics should be hopeful, and inspirational, focusing on themes of perseverance, resilience, the importance of human connection, family, seeing someone again, etc. SONGS MUST BE CLEAN WITH NO SAMPLES!
Note: When submitting, please specify in the message box if you or the artist has any connection to the carceral system!
Good Luck!
